Overview
Extra Verify is a Discord moderation and security bot designed to help server administrators protect their communities from spam, scam invite links, mass-ping abuse, raid behavior, and unsafe moderation activity.
Data We Collect
Extra Verify may process or temporarily store limited Discord data required for moderation and security features, including:
- Discord user IDs
- Discord server IDs
- Discord message IDs
- Moderator IDs
- Role and permission information used for moderation checks
- Audit-log metadata related to moderation actions
- Ban reasons and pending moderation metadata
Message Content
Extra Verify may read message content in real time to detect harmful patterns, such as messages containing mass mentions combined with Discord invite links. Message content is used only for moderation and safety purposes.
Extra Verify does not store full message content for long-term use and does not use message content for advertising, profiling, or training machine learning or AI models.
How We Use Data
Collected data is used to:
- Detect spam, scam links, raids, and abusive behavior
- Delete harmful messages when needed
- Apply moderation actions such as temporary timeouts or bans
- Notify moderators about security events
- Prevent duplicate moderation actions
- Respect ignored users, ignored roles, permissions, and role hierarchy
Data Storage and Retention
Extra Verify stores limited moderation data outside Discord using server-side storage such as Redis and local logs.
- Temporary message ID cache may expire after approximately 2 hours.
- Pending or approved ban metadata may expire after approximately 24 hours.
- Deduplication records may expire after approximately 1 hour.
- Local operational logs may be retained for approximately 14 days.
Data Sharing
Extra Verify does not sell user data. Data is not shared with advertisers or third-party analytics providers. Data may be visible to authorized server administrators or moderators when required for moderation workflows.
User Opt-Out
Because Extra Verify provides server-level moderation and security, individual users generally cannot opt out of moderation scanning inside servers where the bot is installed. Server administrators control whether Extra Verify is installed and can configure ignored users or ignored roles where appropriate.
Security
Extra Verify uses reasonable technical measures to limit data access to moderation and operational purposes. Bot tokens, database credentials, and other secrets should be stored securely and never exposed publicly.
